Bright, clean and simple rooms. For less than 30 too!

Travelled up from South Wales to Gainsborough for a funeral. Arrived late afternoon after almost 5 hour journey. First thing, check in. Holdall, small suitcase and suit hanging bags in hand, took almost 20 minutes to get through check in. Chatty reception staff made check in difficult. Could only park the car over night with a special permit which had to be issued daily at the reception at 5pm, which lasted while 10am the next morning. After these times we were told we would have to pay at the Pay and Display machine or move the car well away from Travel Lodge, at the long stay car park. Once we got through check in and into our room we couldn't settle down because of a fault on the air con system. It sounded like a freight train with its deep bass rumble. No phone in the room meant a treck back down to reception to report this to the ever chatty reception staff who were more than happy to sort out the problem, except it couldn't be sorted there and then so offered to move us to another room. We gathered our belongings and happily moved. There are no drawers or wardrobe, there's just a shelf with a short rail with half dozen clothes hangers to hang up clothing. Between key cards that wouldn't work, missing towels, a hard bed and a sleepless night to follow quickly started to change our view of Travel Lodge. The internet access is free only for the first 30 minutes then there are different levels of access, 3 for 24 hours is one of the options that suited our needs, except it was hard to log onto. I tried 3 times to pay for it. Twice it wouldn't connect for the payment, was successful at the third attempt. The internet was very slow and a lack of download speed. The second night, after being out with friends we made our way back to Travel Lodge, as we parked the car and entered from the carpark we had to walk through a group of men who were drinking alcohol at the entrance and a cloud of cigarette smoke which filled the reception area, we collected our daily carpark permit. My personal opinion, I wouldn't stay here again. There are other places dotted in and around Gainsborough that are more comfortable, less hassle and more competitive on price.

Very good,Clean comfortable location great for doing business and shopping. Cost of 29per night reasonably but can be lowered will be fantastic

It's a travelodge. They didn't exceed my expectations. The Good was a comfortable clean room, great shower and superb air con. The not so good was the 10 min wait for reception on arrival, the bathroom fan ran constantly. Also in the Roseway carpark they can only give the vouchers out after 5pm, can't understand why we could not display it side by side with a car park ticket from 3 til 5.

No frills hotel that's comfortable and everything is new. The car park is council run and doesn't allow you to park up for your stay. You have to keep getting a ticket or permit each day.
